- Superintendence at loading and/or unloading
Cotecna supervises loading or unloading operations to check whether the goods are in agreement with the contract specifications regarding quality and quantity.
- Weight verification
Supervision of scales and weighbridge operations; draught surveys on sea vessels can also be performed by Cotecna inspectors.
- Sampling at loading/unloading or in factory
Sampling of bulk cargo or of merchandise according to the buyer's requirement and/or recognized trade rules. Representative samples can be sent to a laboratory for analysis to confirm contract specifications or can be kept by us for future reference.
- Pest control and fumigation (specific to agricultural produce)
Insects obviously represent a major problem when it comes to agricultural products. Pest control and fumigation can be performed in warehouses and silos or in the holds of vessels or other vehicles. Third parties very often carry out the actual fumigation operation whilst a Cotecna inspector supervises the process.
